Are the sessions delivered remotely or in person?
For the convenience of the client, all sessions are completed remotely via Zoom or Skype. With the advances of online live video technology this is a huge advantage and allows for greater flexibility, whilst at the same time providing the same excellent experience you would otherwise have in person. An added advantage to remotely delivered coaching and training is that this also allows Ronan Coaching’s prices to be extremely competitive when compared with in person coaching and training. You offer both coaching and training. What is the difference and how does this apply to your courses?
Each course is tailored to your individual needs and involves a combination of both training and coaching in most cases. Coaching can be defined as focusing on behaviours, choices, attitudes and self-awareness, whilst training is focused on acquiring skills and knowledge. These two elements are separate and overlapping within the courses Stephen offers. Think of a Venn diagram. Coaching is on the left, training is on the right, and the learning outcomes, i.e. what you take away to apply to your own life, are in the middle.
This distinction is very important in order to understand the learning outcomes and what you will gain by registering for a course. The objective ultimately is to provide you with the tools, understanding, self-awareness and know-how to help attain your goals. There is no 'one glove fits all' in coaching or training, and there are also many types of learning styles that different people have and prefer. Stephen's extensive experience has taught him that often attending generic classroom coaching or training that follows a prescriptive formula can leave the client less able to directly apply the generic examples usually given to their own individual real world situation. The advantage to what Ronan Coaching offers is that it is entirely centered on your own specific situation and learning style with the content adapted by Stephen to meet your particular needs.
Once the training and core coaching elements are completed, is there a mentoring or follow-up offered?
The short answer is yes, absolutely. As the courses are customised to the clients needs, many clients would like a regular follow-up in the form of mentoring in order to check-in with how they are applying their learning outcomes and to have the opportunity to further develop. For many this is a necessary and an incredibly value adding option. It provides the opportunity to better understand the personal and professional skills attained in the context of their real world application following the sessions. It helps provide you with momentum to get the most out of applying what they have learned.
How long are the courses? Are they fixed in duration or does it depend on what I need and want?
Whilst each course has core components offered and a recommended number of coaching/training sessions to complete them within, it is important to understand that the length of each course is not rigid. The suggested number of sessions should be seen only as a rough guide and not as fixed in duration. During the free consultation, this can be discussed further to better understand your needs and how the core topics should be covered and applied. Therefore, a bespoke and fluid approach is recommended to be taken with some flexibility advised from the client in order to get the most out of the sessions.
For example, if a course offers a recommendation of 6 one hour sessions, and the client would like to cover as many topics as possible, Stephen will do his best to cover all the planned topics within this time-frame but sometimes more, or even less sessions may be required, depending on the specific needs of the client. This is the nature of individual and bespoke coaching and training with flexibility being key to getting the most out of the sessions. If an important topic is rushed then you may get less out of it than you otherwise would if we have more time. In saying this though, Stephen is very flexible in his approach and will ensure that a good balance is found between covering important content and focusing on what the client wants. After all, these bespoke courses are designed to meet your needs!!
